The Kansas City Chiefs play their final home game of the season on Christmas night against the Denver Broncos.
In what will be an odd sight, the Chiefs will be playing in front of plenty of empty seats with nothing on the line and with a third-string quarterback starting in Chris Oladokun.
Oladokun handled himself pretty well when forced into action last week at Tennessee, completing 11 of 16 passes for 111 yards.
But I expect this Denver defense to be a whole different animal on Thursday.
The Broncos have a ton on the line as they try to hold off the Patriots for the #1 seed in the AFC, and the defense in particular is in a major bounceback spot after allowing 34 points in a home loss to the Jaguars last week.
The Broncos had won 11 straight heading into that game, and I expect them to get back on the winning track in Kansas City. They lead the NFL with 63 sacks, and look for them to overwhelm Oladokun making his first ever NFL start.
This Chiefs team is dead for 2025, as we saw last week in Tennessee. This reminds me of a longtime schoolyard bully that has been humbled after getting punched in the face, he’s lying on the ground, and now people are getting their licks in while they can.
The Broncos win this one big on Christmas night and continue the Chiefs’ painful, miserable season.
